— Why this pillar matters

Plan beats prediction. Always.

Most retail crypto investors lose money not because they pick the wrong asset — they lose because they have no plan. They buy when the chart looks good, sell when the news looks bad, and end up with a portfolio that's a residue of their last 30 emotional decisions. DCA planning is the antidote: an explicit contract with yourself that pre-commits to capital deployment regardless of what the market is doing on a Tuesday afternoon.

DCA planning is the core strategic layer of the site. It turns vague intent into a structured buying system with a contribution size, a rhythm, and a measurable path to a target portfolio.

Coverage

Recurring contributions, average cost, target portfolios, cadence, and capital allocation.

Outcomes

A clearer monthly plan, realistic target timelines, and less emotional overtrading.

System role

This is the front door of the product. It defines what gets bought, how often, and toward which target.

— What you take away

Six things this track gives you

01
How to size contributions against your real income and expenses, not against a YouTuber's advice.
02
Which cadence (daily / weekly / monthly) actually fits your psychology and bank account, not just the spreadsheet.
03
How average cost behaves through cycles — and why the math of DCA is more forgiving than you think.
04
How to set a target portfolio that's specific, time-boxed, and emotionally meaningful.
05
Why allocation drift is the silent enemy of long-horizon plans — and how to correct it without selling.
06
How to translate a 5–10 year vision into next month's recurring buys.

The DCA planning loop in DCA Finance

  1. 01
Open the dashboard and let the live insights — discipline score, reserve runway, smart next move — show you where the plan stands today.
  2. 02
Use Settings → Strategy preset (Defensive / Balanced / Aggressive) as a starting point. The preset configures cadence, target DCA load, and reserve months in one click.
  3. 03
Open the DCA Backtest calculator with your settings. Honest historical replay shows whether the plan would have worked through 2018, 2022 and the cycle in between.
  4. 04
Set a goal target in Settings → Goal. The dashboard's Goal Pathing panel will then show three paths to that target — current, faster, safer — every time you look at it.
